About this event
The walk through the North York Moors from Goathland to Grosmount will be a mainly downhill route as we take in the history and walk along part of the old railway line which began life as a horse-drawn carriage. The route will take you on a path to enjoy some of the ancient woodland, fast flowing streams and rolling hills. We will have some time in Grosmount before heading back to the University.
We will depart by coach from the Parkinson Steps at 09:00 returning at approximately 17:00. We would like to emphasise the need for good outdoor walking shoes or strong trainers (you don’t mind getting muddy) plus a layer of waterproof clothing. The walking will be at a moderate pace, surrounded by beautiful scenery, covering around 7km with regular stops to admire the scenery and to enjoy some snacks.
