After some years away from the competition, Leeds University Union are putting a team together for University Challenge and we’re out to win it. Have a go and apply for the team by taking one of our qualifying tests.
Our team should be the best and brightest people at Leeds and also reflect the amazing diversity of students we’ve got. We would particularly welcome applications from students who self-identify into our liberation networks, mature students, postgraduates, and part-time learners.
How it works
There is no time limit to complete the test. But it should take about 20 minutes.
Do not consult Google or other people for answers. We know it’s tempting, but pointless in the long run. If you make it through, there will be two further tests where you won’t be able to cheat so you’ll get caught out. We recommend printing out the test, finding a quiet corner, switching your phone and laptop off and giving it a go in one sitting.
Once you have completed the test, you’ll need to hand it in to the Rep Room (in the Student Union) by 10am on Monday 5 November. Or, if you’ve filled the test in online you can email it across to email@example.com. We won’t be able to accept tests after the deadline, so make sure to give yourself time to get it in. Please remember to include your name and email on the front page so we can contact you.
We will be in touch on Tuesday 6 November if your score qualifies you for the final heat which will be held at Pyramid Theatre in front of a live audience on Wednesday 7 November. By submitting your test to LUU, you are confirming that you are available on Wednesday 7 November from 6-8pm for the Pyramid live test. If you cannot make this date, unfortunately you will not be eligible to be a part of the team.
The top 5 scores from the Pyramid event will become our University Challenge team for 2018/19.
