IT Support Technician (Software & Platforms)

£21,000 - £25,000 per annum, dependent on experience 
Full time - 36.5 hours per week

Leeds University Union is a charity with a turnover of £13 million per year that aims to ensure that 38,000 students love their time at Leeds. We employ over 500 staff and our enterprise IT encompasses food retail, restaurants, finance/HR systems, digital signage and we have plans to grow our digital expertise and capability.

We are looking to recruit an IT Support Technician to join the newly created Platforms Team on a permanent basis.

The main purpose of the role is as primary technical contact and source of system knowledge for LUU critical central systems such as HR / Payroll, Finance, Google GSuite and key service systems such as StaffSavvy, a shift management system and MSL, a student clubs/society and voting platform.

We are looking for an individual who not only has the technical skills but also enjoys interacting with people and wants to progress themselves.

Skills / Experience:

Previous experience in supporting software and back-office applications.

Broad understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Office 2013/2016) and Google GSuite.

Main duties:

Managing support requests via telephone, email and in person.

Acting in super administrator role covering tasks such as user management, system configuration, upgrading and optimisation.

For any bugs or issues identified with LUU platforms; liaising with the suppliers and providing the system owners with relevant support.

You may have worked in one of the following roles: Technical Support, Help Desk Agent, Service Desk Agent, IT Technician, IT Engineer, 1st Line IT Engineer, 2nd Line IT Engineer, Desktop Support Technician.

Besides your day-to-day activities, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in projects and innovate.
